A lot of wheel for a small price tag. Our Performance wheels are the perfect choice for everyone, who would like to take the first steps into mountainbiking. Using the same rim profile as on our high-end wheels, the Performance line has an outstanding dent resistance while still delivering a lot of comfort and grip. With our proven Fade hub at the center of the wheel, you have an reliable and Lightweight partner at your side.

As all our wheels, the Performance family is ready for E-Bike use. They also come with the rim tape mounted and a tubeless kit - ready to go!

The Rim

Same same, but different.

The Performance rim uses the same rim profile as our high-end MTB wheels. Carefully developed and tested countless times, these rims are highly impact-resistand and yet comfortable.
Tubeless ready, a modern inner width of 30mm and the flat profile ensure a perfect fit with modern MTB tires from 2.3“ to 2.6“. The angled rim flange guarantees optimized comfort and grip, regardless of the terrain. The Performance rims are made of 6061 aluminum and have a sleeved joint.

Just as our high-end rims, the Performance rim comes in three variations: light, base and strong. While the rim profile stays the same, the wall thickness changes. Following the principle low weight in the front and high durability in the back. The different rim versions enable us to offer the perfect wheelset for every riding style.

The Spokes

2.0 all the way.

In our Performance wheels, Sapim 2.0 spokes connect Hub and rim. These straight-pull spokes are reliable and easy to service. Most wheels in the Performance family use 28 spokes. Only the strong back wheel which is intended for heavier gravity use, is build with 32 spokes to enhance stability and lateral stiffness.

The Hub

Reliable, light and silent.
 
Three pawls, a newly designed tooth profile and the large diameter of the freewheel are working perfectly together to give you a smooth and silent ride. More material at the critical points enhances security and durability.
We are so convinced of our new FADE hub generation that we have approved all FADE MTB hubs for E-MTB use without exception.

LIGHT, BASE, STRONG, DH?

To give you the perfect fit, we developed four rim variations: light, base, strong and DH. While the rim profile stays the same, the wall thickness changes. This enables you to save some weight on the less stressed front wheel while having a stronger back wheel.
So if you are looking for wheels for your Trailbike for instance, we would recommend a light / base combination.

During the development of the new generation of rims, we carried out impact tests and FEM analyses on over 30 different rim profile prototypes. This resulted in an highly dent resistant rim profile. At the same time, the rim profiles are as flat as possible in order to generate a lot of grip and comfort in combination with modern MTB tires.
