VariGrip System

Only very few (e-)mountain bikers can afford the right bike for every use. There are now a number of ways to customise one and the same bike for home rides, long Alpine tours or bike park use: Tuning measures such as flip chips on the frame or a second, robust wheelset make it possible. For these versatile and demanding mountain bikers, Newmen has gone one step further with the VariGrip system and offers child's play handlebar width tuning for every type of riding. The unique and innovative system allows stepless handlebar width adjustment of up to 50 mm.

Whether you're winding around narrow trees on the narrow single trails in Massa Marittima or speeding through berms at high speed in the Sölden bike park: No problem with the VariGrip system - consisting of handlebars and matching grips. Our VariGrip system allows you to adjust the handlebar width without shortening it. This feature comes with our lightweight aluminium handlebar, the Evolution SL VGS. There are two versions of our aluminium MTB handlebars with the VariGrip system: A narrower version with a width of 710 - 760 mm for XC and trail bikes and a wide version (760 - 810 mm) for enduro and downhill use. These two Evolution SL VGS aluminium handlebars are available with a 10, 25 and 40 mm rise.

Smart and simple were the goals when developing the VariGrip system. It was realised using two threaded pieces that are firmly laminated into the handlebars and grip. This allows the grip to be infinitely adjusted by 25 mm on each side. In addition, the bar ends of Newmen VGS handlebars have special reinforced threaded sleeves that provide the necessary stability even at maximum handlebar width. A scale with 5 mm spacing on the handlebars and the grip clamp with a 3 mm Allen key make adjustment child's play, even off-road. The Evolution SL VariGrip aluminium handlebar is perfect for bikers who like to experiment with different widths, for rental bikes and demo bike fleets. Of course, it only works with Newmen VariGrip grips.
